Hey all! So I've been looking at the black werewolf. Currently it just changes the fur colors and nothing else. But maybe it would be better if we did a high contrast metal for it, and changed the colors a little to match? There's the black nickel one unchanged, and also a gold or silver finish with a red tongue. I've done a mock-up of the choices and have opened a poll that will run for just a week!



For the other alt colors, we are unlocked all the way up through the RED DRAGON!! That means the blonde fox is unlocked as well. That is amazing everyone, thank you so much! That leaves 6 alt color goals remaining, and also puts us at over 60% of the big bonus goal.

In March I will be launching Carrion Baggage: Second Bite, so I am having to work hard on that while simultaneously continuing to work on Gnawesome Predators. It would mean a lot to me if you'd check out that next project too. There will be a free mini pin for return backers, and I'll be picking something in line with the theme for Gnawesome Predators!



Here's the most recent prototype for the new designs! I love this one a lot. It looks so lumpy because it is way too large though! So it is getting shrunk down some. There's lil sardines in the tin too.

After looking at the budget I realized something important. I had been continuing to count mold fees in to the alternate pin color costs! Only the piebald hyena will need anything like that. What's more, I was counting the mold fees for their matching meats as well! Mold fees are one of the costliest parts of adding new designs. That means I have a little wiggle room to add some extra designs, if anyone would like them at least. It will be a lot of work but I'd love to see these represented and just could not justify the budget initially. Went and tricked myself, whoops.

If all 17 pin alt goals are reached I could do up to 5 new designs! So I started sketching. Some weren't wise to slip in unplanned. Animals I considered like that were a spotted big cat (like jaguar, cheetah, leopard,) african wild dog, chameleon, komodo dragon, and of course a cockatrice. They were all either too costly on the screen printing side, lacking in an appropriate meat pairing, or had a meat pairing that would not look good with pretty much any design other than themselves. After pruning those and some still fun but perhaps too niche/joke-y ideas (RIP hognose + frog leg, axolotl + food chunk that only attaches at the wrong spot, betta + cherry shrimp, and blind snake + ant larvae) I came up with the following:

Not glorious or even easy to parse, I know! I'm a messy sketcher who refines and refines and refines by redrawing several times, and the first go is usually just me chucking lines on the paper and seeing how they splat. Sorry about that.

There is a poll attached to this update, and I encourage you to vote for your favorite. They will be unlocked in the order voted upon, and that would also determine which pins don't make the cut if necessary. Anyway! Early Bird has ended, but we're really close to the Golden Raptor!

Y'all keep surprising me! I figured a 5k gap would slow us down and might not be surmountable, but here we are still within the first 24 hours and you've already unlocked the albino gator. Which makes me very happy, I know a lot of you were excited for that one! We're already only a bit over $100 away from the halloween spino too, which is one I can't wait to see in person. Thank you all again!

If we keep up momentum I'll do my best to have something new prepared in case we meet all the alt pin goals. Any stretch goal extensions following the current set will be considerably higher and much more restricted in scope. For no reason in particular, certainly not me trying to keep ahead in plans nope, did you know there is a plush species poll? Currently the hyena, gator, and bearded vulture are the top 3. It is still open for participation so that may change!

You all floored me. We were one of the lucky projects to fund in the first hour, and in less than 6 we unlocked every stretch goal. I went in to this thinking it was nothing but embarrassingly bad hubris to make more than 9 or 10 designs total available because I'd be lucky to get that far, but your support has humbled my anxiety in the best way. Thank you all so, so much. I will be informing my manufacturer that they can expect to be doing all of these designs! I've been trying all day to keep up with updating the page, and it is a strange but good kind of busy.

I've put up a new set of stretch goals for getting those alternate colors using the poll participated in by folks during the Launch Party! The image with the order is too large to attach to an update, but it is up on the campaign page. Did your favorite make it pretty high up? Mine is at the very bottom because it wasn't on the poll of course. The first stretch goal will also add the CMYK potion dragon and white cannibal unicorn as options for those who would be receiving them!

For those of you who might not have spotted them, here is the final pin's design along with the two alternate colors it has! A chicken and a mealworm with gold finish. When people think of chickens in relation to meat eating they are usually imagining the chicken as the meat and many folks believe chickens are natural vegans. Not so! If they can swallow it easily it is fair game, be it made of moss, meat, or metal (I wish that last one wasn't true because no, they can't digest screws.) Their diet is especially insect-heavy, but I've personally seen them eat rodents, nestling birds, lizards, frogs, and snakes. They will grab any tiny animal they can catch and start smacking it against the ground with more vigor than a seriema, if they even bother making sure it isn't moving before swallowing it. They are little fluffy killers!



I am not sure if we will hit any of the new goals, but they're officially there for those of you who wanted to root for them. Have a great evening y'all!

I did not even have the time to post that we were launched since I was streaming, and now that that's over we've already hit two stretch goals??? That's insane! We funded in under 20 minutes even!! Thank you all so much for your support, I am SUPER excited to make these pins and I hope we can keep tearing through those stretch goals so no one ends up disappointed.
